J.C. Ramirez Makes First Rehab Outing
6 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher J.C. Ramirez (elbow) completed his first rehab assignment Thursday. The 30-year-old threw 1 2/3 innings, allowing two home runs on two hits to go along with a strikeout, walk and a hit batter. With a layoff as long as he has experienced, bumps along the road are to be expected. Ramirez had a respectable 4.15 ERA through 27 appearances (24 starts) in 2017 and could find himself vying for a rotation spot when he's ready to come off the injured list. Deep league managers should have him on their radar, although he may not turn out to be more than a fringe streaming option.
