Jaylen Brown 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoBoston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown is fresh off a summer that saw him suit up for the USA Senior Men's Team at the World Cup in China. This experience for the fourth-year wing player could only benefit him for this upcoming season. Last season, Brown was a better 'real' NBA player than fantasy as he saw his numbers dip across the board from the previous with stats of 13.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.9 steals with 1.3 makes from range. It was a bit of a dysfunctional season in Boston last year, and with the exit of Kyrie Irving, we could easily see Brown take a leap this season. Let's go back to the 2017 playoffs that saw the Celtics make a deep playoff push led by a second-year Brown. He posted 18.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.6 blocks and a remarkable 2.4 makes from three in 18 games. That could easily be his ceiling this year and if he could come close to those numbers, we will see a top-75 player in category leagues. Don't reach for Brown in drafts, but if you see him available in the later rounds, then he is definitely worth the pick.
