Jason Vargas' Injury Believed To Be Minor
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas (calf) left his start on Sunday against the Cardinals with a left calf cramp that is believed to be minor. "It sounds like it was just cramps. He should be fine," manager Mickey Callaway said. "We got him situated inside, got some fluids in him, and he seemed to be doing fine." The left-hander allowed two earned runs while striking out four and giving up one hit and walking three in his four innings. The 36-year-old doesn't have much strikeout upside for fantasy owners these days, but he's been solid with a 3.74 ERA, which is the second lowest on the team behind Jacob deGrom (3.38).
