Jason Dufner Has Found Success at The U.S. Open
7 years agoIt is hard to call the U.S. Open Jason Dufner's favorite event on tour. That right would be reserved for the PGA Championship, a tournament where Dufner has three career top-five finishes and his only career Major at in 2013. But as far as special events are concerned for Dufner, the U.S. Open should be in the top handful of tournaments that peak his interest yearly. Since 2012, the 41-year-old American golfer has three top-eight finishes at U.S. Open events, including back-to-back fourth-place showings in 2012 and 2013. The 53rd-ranked golfer in the world enters the tournament this year with some hodgepodge results as of late. A top-five at The Players Championship looked like a potential season-changing result, but Dufner has still missed four of his last six cuts. Despite Dufner's recent success at U.S. Opens, it is tough to imagine him being a real threat given his current form.
