The Carolina Hurricanes have released goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his professional tryout contract after he spent some time with the team following the injury to Frederik Andersen (blood clots). "He went back home," Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "I think it [the decision] was actually more on his side," the bench boss said while adding it's difficult for players at the tail end of their careers to make complicated decisions on their playing future. It appears Halak's NHL career may be complete after 17 seasons. He posted a strong 2.50 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage across 581 career games spent with the Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, New York Islanders, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, and New York Rangers.--Brenton KempRead More News
