Jamison Crowder 2020 Outlook: Dependable Target In Improved Offense
5 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Jamison Crowder had a very productive first season in green and white putting up career-highs in receptions (78) and targets (122), leading the team in both categories. Crowder turned those catches into 833 yards and six touchdowns which were his highest totals since 2016 with Washington. Crowder was at his best when playing with QB Sam Darnold. He averaged 5.4 receptions and 58.3 yards per game with the starting signal-caller healthy compared to just eight total catches in the three games Darnold missed. Crowder wasn't as effective on a per-target basis, he averaged a career-low 6.8 yards per target, but saw plenty of volume to be productive. The Jets added Breshad Perriman and rookie Denzel Mims, but Robby Anderson leaving in free agency should mean Crowder won't see a dip in targets. With no spring practices, expect Darnold to lean heavily on his favorite target from last season which will mean plenty of receptions for Crowder, giving him more value in PPR formats. He doesn't have huge upside, but Crowder has been a steady performer and will be the top receiver in what should be an improved offense. He won't win you your league, but Crowder should provide consistent WR3 production at an average draft position of just 165th overall.
