1 year agoPhiladelphia Flyers left wing James van Riemsdyk scored a goal with an assist, a plus-two rating and five shots on net in Saturday's 6-2 matinee victory on the road against the Buffalo Sabres. JVR slapped the brakes on a six-game scoreless skid, and it was his first multi-point effort since Nov. 17 against Tampa Bay. All of van Riemsdyk's points (2 G, 4 A) have come across just three outings, as he has not looked comfortable in his new (also, old) surroundings so far this season. An early-season injury certainly didn't help him, either. The buy-low window is wide open, as he'll eventually start ticking off point streaks and get back to a 45-50 point level.--Daniel E.
