James McCann Expected To Be Activated Friday
2 years agoThe New York Mets are expected to activate catcher James McCann (wrist) from the injured list prior to Friday's game against the Miami Marlins. McCann has been out since mid-May, when he underwent surgery on his left hamate bone. Prior to his injury, he appeared in 21 games and slashed .196/.266/.286 with one home run, six RBI and five runs. Upon his return, he will resume primary catching duties for the team with Tomas Nido as his backup. Meanwhile, fellow catcher Patrick Mazeika is likely to be optioned to Triple-A.
