Jalen Hurts Named The Starter
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is naming rookie Jalen Hurts as the new starting quarterback over Carson Wentz. Hurts will make his first career start in Week 14 against the Saints, according to sources. The 22-year-old from Oklahoma gave the Eagles offense a spark when he replaced Wentz in the Week 13 loss to the Packers, going 5-for-12 for 109 yards with a touchdown and interception. He also added five carries for 29 yards on the ground. Philadelphia just couldn't go on with Wentz stinking up the joint under center. Hurts offers more upside running the football because he's incredibly athletic and mobile. The rookie's accuracy throwing the football will be tested, though, and he'll make for a low-end QB2 against a Saints Defense that has allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to QBs all season.
