Jakob Junis Nails Down First Win
7 years agoThe Kansas City Royals won their first game of the season behind a stellar performance by starting pitcher Jakob Junis. Junis tossed seven innings of three-hit ball while allowing no runs and striking out six. Junis is coming off a solid rookie campaign that included good control and mediocre strikeout numbers, so expectations are limited for him in 2018. With that said, he's only 25 years old and there is potential in his swinging-strike rate that implies he could be in for a bit of a breakout. This performance should help support that notion.
