Jake Luton To Make Another Start
4 years agoWith Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew II (thumb) still unable to throw because of his thumb injury, head coach Doug Marrone said that rookie quarterback Jake Luton will make his second start in Week 10 against the Packers. Luton surprised some by throwing for 304 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the Week 9 loss to the Texans. He also ran for a touchdown. Luton became the first rookie QB in franchise history to throw for 300 yards in his first NFL start. Marrone said earlier that there's no guarantee that Minshew will regain the starting job when his thumb is healed, so there's no reason to hold onto him in leagues that start only one QB. Luton will be a low-end QB2 against a Green Bay defense that is allowing the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
