Jake Allen Blanks Kings, Earns Third Shutout of Season
6 years agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen stopped all 28 shots that he faced Thursday night on his way to his first win in almost three weeks. Allen now has 18 wins and three shutouts on the season but has lost the starter's role to Jordan Binnington. The Blues and Allen have played much better as of late, compared to the start of the season where Allen won only two of his first eight starts, but even with two shutouts in his last four starts Allen only has a save percentage of .903 percent. Barring an injury to Binnington Allen is not a player that you need to roster, but playing behind a surging Blues squad, he is an ideal streaming option when he does occasionally start. St. Louis does not have another back-to-back set of games until the final days of March, so there are not any obvious days to tab as a starting opportunity for Allen in the short term.
