Jackson Chourio Back In Leadoff Spot
8 months agoMilwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio is starting in right field and is back in the leadoff spot on Wednesday versus the visiting Minnesota Twins and right-hander Chris Paddack. With Chourio back in the top spot, outfielder Sal Frelick moves down the order to No. 6. The 20-year-old was the team's leadoff hitter on Opening Day last Thursday but then hit ninth the next three games against righties. The Venezuelan outfielder has earned more time atop the batting order by going 6-for-16 (.375) with a double, three RBI and a stolen base in his first four major-league contests. Chourio signed a record-setting $80 million extension with Milwaukee in the offseason before even playing in his first big-league game, so if he continues to hit well, we should see him atop the batting order more often than not.
