3 weeks agoThe New Jersey Devils fired 53 shots at the Ottawa Senators’ net but needed a shootout winner from rookie Jack Hughes to take the two points by a final score of 4-3. Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood earned the win by turning aside 35 of 38 shots. Playing in his first games since Jan. 11, Kyle Palmieri scored a goal and remains on pace for his first 30-goal season since 2015-16. Jesper Bratt chipped in two assists which equaled his points output for the eight games prior to the break. He now has 18 points in 41 games. Senators’ forward Brady Tkachuk returned from the All-Star break and made his presence felt with four shots, three hits, seven penalty minutes and an assist. Rookie goalie Marcus Hogberg turned aside 50 of 53 shots and has now seen 95 shots in his last two games. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
