J.T. Realmuto In Line For Another Great Season
7 years agoEven before the Miami Marlins jettisoned the core of their offense away in the offseason, catcher J.T. Realmuto was going to be a key to the team's success. Now that the team has parted ways with guys like Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Dee Gordon, Realmuto remains one of the lone bright spots currently on the roster. That isn't simply because everyone else has left, however. Realmuto was solid in his own right last season with a .278 average to go with 17 home runs and 65 RBI. His 2017 numbers were comparable to fellow All-Star catchers Buster Posey and Yadier Molina. His home run and RBI numbers both increased last season, and there's no reason to think he'll be any different this season. In a position where consistent offense can be difficult to come by, Realmuto is as close as it comes to a "sure thing."
