J.P. Crawford Smacks Grand Slam in Victory
J.P. Crawford belted a grand slam in the club's 6-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. Crawford came to the plate in the bottom of the second and emptied the bases with a 377-foot blast against right-hander Luis Ortiz. He added a walk in a 1-for-3 afternoon. Although Crawford hadn't homered in June until Sunday, he has been a hitting machine over the past couple weeks. In 15 games since May 30, the 30-year-old has gone an incredible 25-for-57 (.439) with two HRs, nine RBI, 12 walks, and five strikeouts. After recording lackluster production a year ago, he has bounced back to slash .296/.411/.413 with six homers, 29 RBI, 30 runs, and four steals over 289 plate appearances. With Crawford ranking in the league's 85th percentile in xwOBA and in its 90th percentile in xBA, his rebound looks legitimate.
