J.K. Dobbins' Absence Was Contract-Related
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins has been absent from mandatory minicamp because he's seeking a contract extension. The 24-year-old mentioned he plans to report to training camp because he doesn't want to deal with the fines that come with skipping it. The former second-round pick of the Ravens is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Dobbins appears ready to talk extension, but has little leverage here. He has missed 27 games in three seasons and only played in eight games last season. The potential is there, but the Ravens probably haven't seen enough to warrant a long term deal. It looks like Dobbins will have to prove himself in 2023 before he gets a new deal.
