J.J. Barea Has Double-Double Off The Bench
6 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea had himself a solid passing game off the bench against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. He scored 15 points, on 7-for-15 shooting and dished out 10 dimes, in his 25 minutes. However, owners shouldn't rush to their waiver wires to grab Barea after this game. The Lakers are ranked fifth in pace, so there were more possessions than usual for Barea to collect his stats. The Lakers are also terrible on the defensive end, giving up the second most points-per-game in the league at 121.1 a night. So it was a perfect storm for Barea to get his. Overall he’s nothing more than a deep league stream for assists, as he’s not going to get a lot of easy matchups like this one. Leave Barea on your wires as the Mavericks take on the New York Knicks next, who are much better on defense ranking 20th in points allowed-per-game and 26th in pace.
