6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Martinez hasn't played in a game since leaving Thursday's contest due to back spasms. It doesn't sound like the Red Sox plan to put Martinez on the injured list. Christian Vazquez will serve as the designated hitter and bat second against lefty Blake Snell. Normally, this would be a good spot for Vazquez, but Snell has been fairly sharp this season.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
