7 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kevin Gausman (eye) met the media during Monday's spring training game. He'd left earlier in the day after colliding with Tigers third base prospect Jeimer Candelario while backing up a play at the plate. Gausman told the media that he "felt like he'd been in a bar fight" and that he thought he hit Candelario's helmet brim, which resulted in the cut over his left eye. He passed the concussion protocol because he knew what day it was, thanks to it being his friend's birthday. Gausman thinks he's OK and is still on track to make his next start on Saturday.--Michael Griffin - RotoBaller
