Washington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov has been listed as day-to-day due to a lower-body injury. The 24-year-old reportedly felt some pain in the second period of his team's preseason contest in Philadelphia on Saturday but managed to finish the game. Samsonov, expected to battle for full reign as the Capitals' starting netminder this season, skated on Wednesday and is expected to be ready by opening night on October 13. The Russian backstopper posted a 13-4-1 record to go along with a 2.69 goals-against average, a .902 save percentage and two shutouts in 2020-2021.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
