Igor Shesterkin signed a four-year contract with the New York Rangers on Monday for an AAV of $5.65 million. This buys New York two years of unrestricted free agency on their Russian goaltender who is just 25. Shesterkin has played a total of 35 games last season for the Rangers. He posted a 2.62 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage along with 16 wins. Shesterkin is viewed as a fantasy hockey goaltender of the future given New York's trajectory. The young Russian goalie had a quality start percentage of 64.5% last season and finished fifth in the Calder Trophy voting (best rookie). He will be New York's starter again this year and expect more starts.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
