1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ will be given the day off on Friday as the team faces the Baltimore Orioles and left-hander Cole Irvin. The Cubs will give Happ a day off against a southpaw after he went 5-for-12 with a home run, eight RBI and five runs scored in the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates this week. The 28-year-old switch-hitter is only hitting .222 (10-for-45) this month, though, with a double, triple, homer and nine RBI in 13 games played. Happ has been much better from the left side of the plate against righties, too, with all five of his homers this year coming against them. With Happ starting on the bench Friday, Patrick Wisdom will start in left field and bat seventh in the lineup against Irvin.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
