Ian Desmond Steals Second Career Postseason Base
6 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond recorded one of the team's rare hits on Friday, and he did something he hasn't done in the postseason in nearly five years. Desmond stole second base. It's his second career postseason steal, and the first time he's accomplished the feat since 2014, when he was still with the Nationals. Desmond would draw a throwing error during the theft and ended up at third with nobody out, but the Rockies lineup failed to drive him in. Desmond finished the season with 22 home runs and 20 stolen bases along with a dismal batting average, so hopefully he can continue to contribute the counting stats when the team returns back to Colorado to face elimination on Sunday.
