6 months agoColorado Rockies outfielder Ian Desmond played a central role in carrying the team to victory over the Cubs on Thursday as he doubled twice, driving in one run and scoring another in the 3-1 game. The doubles broke an 0-for-12 streak that Desmond was caught up in, and it's his first game with multiple extra base hits in a month. Desmond wasn't an impressive specimen last year, and he's actually gotten a little worse so far this year. Hitting .240 and on pace for just 18 home runs this season, Desmond is in danger of finishing with his worst full season ever. Now his roster spot's being pushed by youngster Raimel Tapia as well, so unless Desmond can get a roll in the near future, he could be at danger of losing serious playing time.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
