The St. Louis Cardinals selected Oklahoma left-handed pitcher Levi Prater with the 93rd overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. The Red Birds followed that up with Missouri pitcher Ian Bedell in the fourth round and Long Beach State outfielder LJ Jones IV in the fifth round. Prater gets fringy scouting grades across the board, which gives him more of a middle-relief profile in the future, but he misses plenty of bats and could develop into a backend starter. Bedell, a righty, gives the Cards a high floor and pitchability and can put his pitches where he wants. He has a sound delivery and the athleticism to repeat it. Jones missed most of 2019 with an injury but was hitting .327 with two homers in 14 games this spring before COVID-19 ruined the season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
