Hunter Henry 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Low Floor With Addition of Gesicki
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry caught just 41 passes for 409 yards and two touchdowns last season, finishing as the TE22 overall in PPR scoring. He's failed to have big-time success since joining New England in 2021, and that'll likely continue after the Patriots signed Mike Gesicki this offseason. Jonnu Smith was traded to Atlanta, but he was more of a fullback and blocking tight end, while Gesicki is a superior pure receiver. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton will also be contenders for heavy usage in the Patriots' passing attack. New offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien might ramp up the passing attempts, but the offense will still likely be a run-first attack, given its personnel. Unless Henry catches a ton of touchdowns in the red zone, there's not a clear path to fantasy success.
