Houston Texans Defense 2019 Player Outlook: Downgraded Secondary And Tough Schedule
5 years agoDon’t go out of your way to draft the Texans defense. They’ll remain one of the best (3rd in 2018) against the run with a deadly front seven, retaining all seven starters and only getting stronger together. However, already ranking 27th against the pass, they’ve lost Tyrann Mathieu and Kareem Jackson. S Tashaun Gipson and CB Bradley Roby will replace them, but neither are as good. They have the fourth toughest schedule (by 2018 winning %) in the league and face the third best opposing QB’s. You can draft the Texans in the last two rounds if you think this front seven has a huge season, but don’t go out of your way and miss an opportunity at some positional depth.
