Homer Bailey Throws Another Shutout
5 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Homer Bailey has now thrown 13 2/3 straight innings of shutout ball. Bailey shut down the Mariners offense for 7 2/3 innings on Tuesday, giving him his second straight shutout win. Granted, his two matchups of the Tigers and Mariners are two of the worst offenses in baseball, but it's still an incredibly impressive accomplishment for a 33-year-old who has only had spurts of greatness. Bailey's outing against the Mariners was dominant as he struck out six and only allowed seven baserunners, and if he can continue to pitch like this, he could quickly become worthy in many fantasy leagues. However, he'll host the first-place Twins with one of the most powerful lineups in the league this weekend. Owners should be wary.
