Henry Davis' Rehab Paused
5 months agoPittsburgh Pirates catcher/outfielder Henry Davis (concussion) had his minor-league rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona paused on Sunday. Davis didn't suffer another concussion but experienced reoccurring symptoms from his concussion. The 24-year-old former first-rounder went on the seven-day concussion injured list on June 15 and is now unlikely to return to the major-league roster until after the All-Star break in mid-July. He appeared in just two rehab games for the Curve before being shut down with reoccurring concussion symptoms, which obviously isn't a good sign. For now, the Pirates will continue on with Joey Bart and veteran Yasmani Grandal splitting the catching duties. Davis has so far been a bust in his 91 major-league games, hitting .197 (61-for-310) with eight homers, 29 RBI and 109 K's in 357 plate appearances.
