Hector Neris Earns Relief Win Versus Giants

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris pitched a clean ninth inning and earned the win thanks to a walk-off hit by Andrew Knapp in the bottom of the inning. Neris struck out two and didn't allow a baserunner. The 31-year-old righty is off to a strong start this season with a 1.23 ERA and a 9:3 K:BB through eight appearances. Neris has relied exclusively on his four-seam/splitter combination this season to dazzling results as both offerings have a whiff rate over 27 percent while barely giving up any hard contact. The Philies beefed up their bullpen in the offseason, but Neris has remained the team's closer and should be rostered in all leagues.
