Hat Trick from James Neal Lifts Oilers to Victory
5 years agoEdmonton Oilers forward James Neal scored his second hat trick of the season on Tuesday night as the Oilers topped the Rangers 7-5. Two of Neal's goals came on the power play, giving him 12 power-play goals this season, which trails only David Pastrnak's 13 power-play goals. After scoring at least 20 goals in every season of his career before last season with the Flames, Neal sits at 19 goals on the season, just a single goal from his 11th 20 goal campaign. Coming to Edmonton has been a career renaissance of sorts for the 32-year-old winger, who is on pace for the most power-play points and the highest shooting percentage of his career. His 20.4 percent shooting percentage is worth mentioning as it is far above his 12 percent career average and his previous season-best of 15.4 percent. Regression will be coming for Neal at some point, but for now, he is feasting on Edmonton's top power-play unit.
