Gunnar Henderson Could Make Spring Debut By End Of Next Week
10 months agoBaltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that third baseman Gunnar Henderson (oblique) continues to hit and throw every day in camp, and it's possible that Henderson gets into a Grapefruit League game by the end of the upcoming week. Henderson is dealing with left-oblique soreness, and the Orioles aren't going to rush him into spring training games until he's fully ready. The 22-year-old has plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day by the end of March. In his first full MLB season in 2023, Henderson looked like a seasoned veteran, slashing .255/.325/.489 with an .814 OPS, 28 home runs, 82 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 100 runs scored in 150 games to help the O's win the American League East. The scary thing is that the young left-handed hitter could get even better as his plate discipline matures. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 5 fantasy third baseman for 2024.
