Guardians Recall Brayan Rocchio Wednesday
2 years agoThe Cleveland Guardians recalled infield prospect Brayan Rocchio from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday and optioned right-hander Hunter Gaddis to Columbus in a corresponding move. Per MLB Pipeline, Rocchio is Cleveland's No. 6 prospect, and he gets the call to the big leagues after going 21-for-61 (.344) with seven doubles, 10 RBI, four stolen bases and 10 runs scored in 15 games for Columbus to begin the year. He's not making his first big-league start on Wednesday, but he could see some playing time if Amed Rosario (back) is unable to return to action by the weekend. The 22-year-old switch-hitter can probably be ignored for now in most mixed leagues, but he has the potential to eventually hit for a solid average with moderate power as a middle infielder.
