Grayson Rodriguez Sent To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles optioned rookie right-hander Grayson Rodriguez to Triple-A Norfolk after Friday's game and recalled left-hander Keegan Akin from Norfolk in a corresponding move. Rodriguez has really struggled this month and is now 2-2 with a 7.35 ERA (5.94 FIP), 1.72 WHIP, 21 walks and 56 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings over his first 10 major-league starts. In five starts in May, he has an 11.14 ERA (9.43 FIP) with 10 walks, 22 strikeouts and 11 home runs allowed in 21 innings. The 23-year-old prospect will surely be back in Baltimore's rotation this year, but they'd like to see him go down to the farm and work on some things. Fantasy managers should be stashing Rodriguez everywhere and not jettisoning him to the waiver wire. Akin is likely to take Rodriguez's spot in the rotation for now.
