Unable to capture the gold after his long-awaited title shot, Gilbert Burns (19-4) was taken out by defending champion and former teammate Kamaru Usman in the third round by TKO stoppage on Saturday. Statistically, Burns was able to land 45 significant strikes (55 total strikes) but was unable to land any of his three takedown tries. His first loss since July of 2018, Burns will look to make another push toward the title. With one of the most dangerous jiu-jitsu games in all of mixed martial arts and a powerful striking game to complement it, it would not be a surprise to see Burns right back at the top of the stack.--Matt Bricker
