On Saturday, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen told reporters that the team would not pick up offensive lineman Evan Neal's fifth-year option. The 24-year-old was the seventh overall pick for New York in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he was seen as a solid prospect during his college career. However, he's had trouble getting it together at the NFL level and has yet to live up to his first-round billing. In 2024, Neal was surpassed by free agent acquisition Jermaine Eluemunor on the depth chart, appearing in nine games (seven starts). The Giants are expected to try the Florida native out at guard this season, hoping to find another home for him, though it remains to be seen if he will stick. 2025 projects to be his final season with the team.--Alex Ciulla
