Giants Sign Kyle Harrison
4 years agoThe San Francisco Giants signed left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison, their third-round pick in June, for $2.5 million on Thursday. The Giants have now signed their entire 2020 draft class after inking the highly ranked high school pitcher from De La Salle. The $2.5 million Harrison received was well over the slot value for the No. 85 overall pick. The southpaw had first-round talent and was considered one of the top prep pitchers in the draft, but he fell to San Francisco in the third round because of a strong commitment to UCLA. He went 21-1 with a 1.19 ERA in high school, including going 10-0 with a 1.26 ERA as a junior. Harrison is just 18 years old, but he could rise quickly through the team's minor league system and has mid-rotation upside in the major leagues.
