Giants All-In On Yoshinobu Yamamoto
12 months agoAccording to those familiar with San Francisco Giants president Farhan Zaidi's thinking, he has never been so all-in on a free agent in his six years while leading the Giants' baseball operations group as he has been this winter for Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Giants have the financial flexibility to sign Yamamoto and to keep adding and they'd view a Logan Webb-Yamamoto pairing atop their starting rotation as a strength that could get them over the hump in the tough National League West. The Giants won't lose out on Yamamoto because their offer was light, and they are looking to add some sizzle to a roster that has played uninspired baseball the last two years. Yamamoto is expected to command a deal that could be close to $300 million, and he'd certainly be a great fit for the Giants and fantasy managers in that ballpark.
