2 months agoGiancarlo Stanton had a lost 2019, as he was limited to just 72 PAs thanks to a variety of injuries and setbacks. He still slashed a respectable .288/.403/.492 with three homers, but left a bitter taste in many mouths after trying to play through a Grade 2 quadriceps strain in the postseason. Still, the contact this man makes is special. Despite his limited playing time, he still hit the hardest batted ball of the season at 120.6 mph on March 28, per Statcast. Lest you think that was a fluke, his 118.9-mph hit on June 20 was virtually tied for second place on the leaderboard. Steamer (a notoriously conservative projection system) pegs Stanton for 49 long balls in 2020, and the “over” could be a wise bet if he's healthy and assumes a prime position in one of the deepest lineups in baseball. With first-round upside, his current ADP of 53.93 leaves plenty of room to profit. In fact, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Stanton go in the first round in 2021.--Rick Lucks - RotoBaller
