German Marquez Shelled By SF
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez was blasted by the Giants in the first half of Monday's doubleheader. Marquez surrendered a whopping 11 earned runs in just 2 2/3 innings, considerably more earned runs than he's ever given up in an outing before. Marquez was walloped right from the start, giving up five earned runs before recording the second out of the game. After a breather of a second inning, it fell apart for Marquez in the third as he surrendered six earned runs on six hits before being replaced. A quick homer off the bat of Buster Posey brought in two more runs, one of which was Marquez's. He'll obviously look to bounce back quickly from the atrocious outing, but he is due for a date with the Yankees in New York. Fantasy owners might want to shy away from that one.
