6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Gerardo Parra is out of the lineup on Saturday as the Rockies prepare to square off against another tough lefty. Facing James Paxton, Colorado is choosing to sit Parra in favor of recently recalled infielder Pat Valaika. Parra is only hitting .179 against lefties this season, and he's always struggled considerably more against lefties than righties. With the Rockies in possession of a plethora of offensive talent, they can simply use the matchups to give Parra additional days of rest. Owners should prepare for the fact that while Parra is having a career year, he'll also be working a platoon for the foreseeable future.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
