Geno Smith Playing Well Heading Into Week 6
2 years agoHeading into Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is playing like one of the best QBs in football and has already won NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Smith is currently fourth in EPA per dropback (0.19), sixth in touchdown percentage (8.48) and leads the NFL in completion percentage (75.2 percent), according to TruMedia. He also has the lowest percentage of off-target throws (6.4 percent). The 32-year-old is on a one-year, $3.5 million contract in 2022, but Seattle may have to pay up to keep him around past this season if he continues to play well. Drew Lock is the only other QB on the active roster, and his contract expires after the season. Lock continues to push Smith in practice, but Smith has earned a longer leash and will be a solid QB2 streamer in Sunday's matchup against Arizona.
