8 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Genesis Cabrera wasn't great on Tuesday, allowing three earned runs in just 4 2/3 innings, but a deeper look into his start shows that he was lucky to escape with just those three unearned runs coming across. Cabrera threw 95 pitches and did not record a single swing-and-miss. He threw 62 of his 95 pitches for strikes, but none of those were recorded as swinging strikes. He simply doesn't have the quality stuff needed to fool major league hitters. Alex Reyes will get one more start in Triple-A, so Cabrera might have one more big league start coming up, but it's clear he does not belong in this rotation long term.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
