Gary Trent Jr. Drops 15 Points In Third Career Start

Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. entered the starting five for Friday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans with Damian Lillard (groin) set to miss the next handful of games. Trent tied for the team high with 37 minutes of action, shooting 5-for-11 overall, including 3-for-4 from behind the arc. While his 15 points were a positive, he added just two assists, one rebound and one steal, leaving much to be desired across the stat sheet when factoring in his time on the floor. Owners will need to temper their multi-category expectations with Trent, but he can undoubtedly score in bunches, which makes him a high-upside DFS play Sunday versus the Pistons. The thinness of Portland's backcourt also makes him a short-term season-long option so long as Lillard remains in street clothes.
