3 weeks agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Garrett Richards (elbow, shoulder) will throw live batting practice on Saturday and hopes to resume his rehab assignment with Single-A Lake Elsinore next Thursday. Richards left his last rehab start on Aug. 5 with shoulder discomfort after 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Coming back from Tommy John surgery, Richards is still expected to pitch before the season is over. The 31-year-old right-hander should be a big part of the Friars rotation in 2020, but he won't help fantasy owners at all in the final month.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
