Gardner Minshew Tallies Three Touchdowns In Losing Effort
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 24-of-40 passes for 355 yards, recorded two touchdowns, threw two interceptions, and added four carries for five yards and an additional score during the team's 40-34 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 26-year-old backup put up a valiant effort to knock off the division rival and secure the first-round bye for Philadelphia. However, three total turnovers by the quarterback proved to be too much for the team to overcome. For fantasy purposes, he ended the night with more points scored than Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Trevor Lawrence. Not too shabby for a backup quarterback playing against a Dallas defense that came into the game allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. There is no word on Jalen Hurts' (shoulder) status heading into Week 17, but Minshew would be a top-tier streaming option next week against New Orleans if given the green light to start.
