7 years agoThe Kansas City Royals grabbed a surprise share of the spring training home run leaderboard thanks to first baseman Frank Schwindel, but that doesn't mean Schwindel will have a roster spot for now. Schwindel was left off the Opening Day roster for the Royals, and instead, Lucas Duda will man the post at first. Schwindel's power surge left a lot of fans wondering why he wouldn't get a spot, but KC's free-agent acquisition of Duda really meant there was never a spot available for Schwindel no matter how well he played during spring training. For now, Schwindel should just be on fantasy owners' radars as a possible call-up during the season if the big league squad suffers a spate of injuries.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
