11 months agoThe Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants are the four finalists for Japanese pitcher Shota Imanaga, according to sources. The New York Mets and New York Yankees were also linked to Imanaga, but the Yankees were concerned about his fly-ball rate at Yankee Stadium. The 30-year-old left-hander is projected to sign a deal for at least $100 million after he had a 2.80 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 174 strikeouts in 148 innings for the DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball in 2023. Imanaga relies on fastball control and a splitter and would be the most attractive to fantasy managers as a mid-rotation starter in his first year in the majors in the States if he went to a pitcher-friendly park.
