Falcons Have Offer Of First-Rounder For Julio Jones
4 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons have discussed an offer of a future first-round draft pick in exchange for All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones, according to sources. The Falcons are asking teams that are inquiring about Jones for a first-round pick. Atlanta has had talks with the Tennessee Titans, but a source described the Titans chances of landing him as a "long shot." The 32-year-old pass-catcher requested a trade at the beginning of March, and the Falcons have been talking to other teams for weeks. They'd prefer not to trade him in the NFC but would do so for the right price. It's likely that he won't be traded until after June 1 because of salary cap benefits for the Falcons. The sixth overall pick in 2011 has led the NFL in receiving twice and has made seven Pro Bowls and has been selected as a first-team All-Pro twice. But Jones was limited to nine games due to injury in 2020 and had 51 catches for 771 yards and three touchdowns. His age and injuries remain a concern for fantasy managers, and his fantasy stock may fall if he's dealt to another team.
